Supporting services

Examples of wider healthcare roles are construction and maintainance of NHS buildings, organising catering, supply of linen, cleaning the wards and booking appointments. Every role in the wider healthcare team has one thing in common: they are essential to the successful running of the NHS. Click on this link for more information.

Our Learning, Education and Widening Participation and People Organisational Development teams support staff with education, training and development. They have the responsibility to ensure all our staff and students have the opportunity to learn, are equipped with the right tools for their roles/careers in health and able to thrive so that staff can achieve their career and learning aspirations.

The team embraces all aspects of education and training, with the aim to become a centre of excellence, offering health-related learning opportunities to all our staff and students. To do this it is fundamental that we work in partnership with education providers who understand and deliver on our Values, Behaviours and Standards.  The support of personal development has a positive impact on supporting the Trust's vision and embedding a culture of excellent patient care throughout. We therefore adopt a 'can do' approach and culture where our staff can grow by accessing managerial and leadership courses,  vocational training, keep up to date with statutory and mandatory training and develop innovative ways of training and development.

We also offer robust leadership development offering through our 'Leadership Development Brochure and Connects' leadership prospectus. These opportunities are open to all leaders within UHNM.
