Clinical services education

We support professional education and enhanced training and development of our clinical services professionals that range from our Healthcare Scientists to Allied Health Professionals across the Trust. Both students and staff have the opportunity to study and further learn and develop within their specialty and/or profession.

Clinical services are:

Allied Health Professionals (for example a dietitian, physiotherapist, diagnostic radiographer, or therapeutic radiographer)

As key members of today's healthcare team, allied health professionals work closely with patients, often on a one-to-one basis, helping with rehabilitation and providing treatment that helps transform people's lives.

Healthcare Scientists (for example, you could specialise in bio-medical science, blood sciences, clinical immunology,  haematology, microbiology, infection sciences, medical physics, imaging, medical engineering, radiotherapy, cardiac services, clinical perfusion, neurophysiology, ophthalmic and vision science, respiratory physiology and sleep sciences or vascular science)

Whether it's helping patients with hearing problems, analysing tissue samples, or researching how results from the human genome project can be translated into new treatments, healthcare scientists and technicians help to save lives and improve care for millions of patients.

Operating Department Practitioners are an important part of the operating department team, working with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to help ensure every operation is as safe and effective as possible.

Pharmacy If you're interested in science and how medicines help patients manage their condition, you may find this field interesting. Pharmacists are experts in medicines and work with technicians and assistants in both hospital and community settings.
