Exercise

Breathing exercises: Sit upright, relax shoulders, slow deep breath, hold 3 sec, breathe out. Repeat 5 times, 4 times a day.

  • Wear comfy shoes and loose clothes.
  • Try to do 30 minutes of gentle exercise most days.

Good choices include:

  • Brisk walking
  • Cycling or pedal bike
  • Marching on the spot
  • Seated marching if you need extra support
  • Stop and rest if you feel dizzy or too out of breath.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Always warm up before you start and cool down after.


Small steps make you stronger for surgery.
