Joint Chair to continue leading partnership between UHNM and MPFT

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) has confirmed that Jackie Small will continue in her role as Joint Chair of UHNM and Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for a further 12 months.
The joint chairing arrangement has already created new opportunities for collaboration across acute, community, social care and mental health services. By working more closely together, the two trusts will continue to strengthen patient pathways, improve access to joined-up care across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and the wider North Midlands.
On her reappointment, Jackie said: “During the past year, I’ve had the privilege of spending time with teams across UHNM and seeing first-hand the dedication, skill and compassion that staff bring to their work every day. I’ve been hugely impressed by the quality of care being delivered and the commitment to continually improve services for patients. It’s a real privilege to continue working alongside such talented and committed colleagues and I’m looking forward to building on this over the next two years.”
Dr Simon Constable, Chief Executive of UHNM, said: “Jackie’s continued leadership is fantastic news for both organisations. Since her appointment in June 2025, we’ve seen the difference her leadership has made across UHNM, through her visibility, engagement with teams and genuine interest in the experiences of our staff and patients. She has spent time listening to colleagues across our services and has seen first-hand the professionalism, compassion and commitment that defines this organisation. This extension provides welcome continuity, and we’re delighted she will continue to support and champion the incredible work of our teams.”
