A single place for your health information

Add, access and share your health information with healthcare professionals, family and carers – anytime, anywhere.

Patients Know Best (PKB) is our online patient portal that enables you to access personal health information relating to the care we provide to you, and is designed to improve your patient experience and access to NHS services and information. Patients Know Best can be accessed via the NHS App using your NHS login.

If you have been a patient at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), you will receive an invitation to register for PKB by either email, SMS text message or posted letter. If you haven't been invited but you have been a patient recently, it's simple, just register via the NHSApp.

Initially you’ll be able to receive your appointment details. Further along this journey we will send you your appointment letters, also allowing you to make a decision to go totally paperless. Eventually, the trust wants to send out the appropriate pathology and radiology results with more clinical teams using the built in tool to work better with their patients (messaging, questionnaire, care planning).

You can also choose to provide access to your personal information on PKB to family, carers and health professionals. Don’t worry, this is your choice and you can also remove permissions at any time.

If you have been a patient at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) in the last two-years, you will receive an invitation to register for PKB by either email, SMS text message or posted letter. If you haven't been invited but you have been a patient recently, it's simple, just register via the NHSApp (link point to instructions)

If you choose to register, in time you’ll start receiving the majority of hospital appointment letters through the platform, meaning all your information is stored securely in one place.
