Ricky D.G. Patel

I qualified as an Optometrist in 2015 following on from my degree at the University of Plymouth.

I have had various roles in multiple optical practices as a resident Optometrist and in previous health care settings conducting paediatric refraction, pre and post cataract assessments as well as glaucoma shared care schemes.

I joined the trust in early 2025 where I am a Specialist Clinical Optometrist involved in the Emergency Eye Clinic as well as Glaucoma clinics.

My special interest is Glaucoma and Medical Retina where I have completed the Professional Certificate in Glaucoma and Medical Retina.

I am currently finishing my placement element of the Professional Higher Certificate in Glaucoma and have recently started to undertake my Independent Prescribing Qualification.
