Mrs P Ranjit

As a highly experienced Consultant ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist at the University Hospital of North Midlands, Stoke on Trent, Mrs Ranjit has been leading the glaucoma service since 2010. She provides a tertiary level glaucoma service for patients in the North Midlands and Shropshire. As part of her clinical practice, she sees and manages the most complex and advanced glaucoma patients.

She has developed and perfected a vast array of different techniques, which include the most recent advances such as laser treatments to manage glaucoma. She is an expert in surgical procedures like the iStent, trabeculectomy and non-penetrating glaucoma procedures, namely viscocanalostomy and deep sclerectomy with excellent outcomes.

"I have been leading the glaucoma service for UHNM since 2010 and mainly providing comprehensive surgical glaucoma management.

Also, I support the cataract service by performing complex cataract surgery for the department.

I train the West Midlands trainees and MTI international fellows, clinical especially for surgical and medical glaucoma management.

I support the clinical nurse specialists and clinical optometrists to run the service for UHNM."
