UHNM joins LGBTQ+ community at Stoke-on-Trent Pride
Staff from University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) joined thousands of people at Hanley Park for Stoke-on-Trent Pride as part of the city’s annual celebration of diversity, inclusion and community.
Colleagues from the Recruitment team attended the event on Saturday 20 June and spoke to members of the community about careers at UHNM and highlighting the Trust’s commitment to inclusion.
Emily Hilton, head of recruitment, said: “Pride is about much more than one day in the calendar, it’s about visibility, allyship and showing our communities that UHNM is a place where everyone is welcome, valued and respected.
“While we are there to talk about careers in the NHS, our presence is first and foremost about standing alongside the LGBTQ+ community and demonstrating our commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive employer. That commitment continues all year round through initiatives such as our LGBTQ+ Staff Network and the NHS Rainbow Badge, helping create an environment where colleagues feel able to bring their whole selves to work.
“Being present at events like Pride matters, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion across both our workforce and the communities we serve.”
This year marked the 20th anniversary of Stoke-on-Trent Pride.
