UHNM’s Health Library service receives positive assessment from NHS England
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust’s (UHNM) Health Library service has received a positive assessment following a review by NHS England.
As part of the review the service, which has a library at both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, Stafford, showed it met all 16 national quality standards to a good level, highlighting strong leadership, a skilled and committed team, effective services and a clear plan for the future.
The Health Library service, which is part-funded by NHS England, supports all UHNM staff and students on placement by providing access to evidence and information to support research, education, training and continuing professional development.
The assessors highlighted several areas of good practice including UHNM’s literature search service, the Library Ambassadors Programme and strong partnership working with Keele University. They also praised the service’s plans for the future.
Louisa Fulbrook, Lead Librarian at UHNM, said: “I am delighted that we met all the essential quality indicators. This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and expertise of the whole library team. Our service is here to support staff and students across UHNM, helping them access the knowledge and evidence they need to deliver the best possible care for patients.”
