UHNM appoints new Director of Medical Education
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Nick Munyanyi as its new director of medical education (DME).
Dr Munyanyi joined UHNM in 2011 as a consultant in acute internal medicine and holds a strong passion for advancing medical education. He has held a number of key roles at UHNM including supervising and mentoring learners across the Trust, leading the Foundation Training Programme as training programme director from 2015 and most recently serving as deputy DME for the past three years.
Dr Munyanyi said: "I am honoured to take up the role of director of medical education at UHNM. Education is most impactful when learners feel respected, supported and inspired, and I want UHNM to be a place where everyone has the opportunity to flourish. My vision is to nurture an inclusive learning culture that celebrates diversity and excellence, values every voice and empowers people to reach their full potential."
Dr Munyanyi also paid tribute to his predecessor, Professor Will Carroll, acknowledging his guidance and support over the past three years.
