Patients and staff come together to celebrate second anniversary of North Midlands Hand Centre
Former patients, staff and healthcare partners came together to mark the second anniversary of the North Midlands Hand Centre at a special celebration event.
Members of the public were given behind-the-scenes access to the facility at County Hospital in Stafford which provides state-of-the-art treatment whilst reducing the waiting list for hand surgery at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM).
Those in attendance were able to tour the centre’s operating theatres as well as meet the staff who work there whilst browsing a number of stalls including partners and UHNM Charity.
Mr Akshay Malhotra, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Hand and Wrist Surgery at UHNM said: “We were delighted to welcome over one hundred guests to the event including colleagues and former patients. We also had the honour of hosting Mr Simon Davis, Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire, who toured our facilities and spent time with our team.
“This celebration was a testament to the incredible people who make the Hand Centre what it is- hand therapy, surgical, outpatient, admin, and managerial teams and I thanks them all for their commitment, skill, and teamwork every single day.
“We are so proud of what the team has achieved in just two years and look forward to continuing to grow and innovate in delivering outstanding care for our patients.”
