Collaborative Pilot Project Supporting Children with Asthma Receives National Recognition
A collaborative pilot scheme designed to improve the health outcomes of local children with asthma has received national recognition.
The ‘Keep Warm, Keep Well’ initiative was highly commended in the ‘Driving Change Through Data and Analytics’ category at the recent HSJ Digital Awards.
The scheme uses innovative software to identify households where children have a diagnosis of asthma and other indicators of cold-related risk, enabling them to receive targeted charity support to keep their homes warm and healthy.
Launched in September last year and based at Moorcroft Medical Centre, the project is a partnership between University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, and local charity Beat the Cold.
Its success has already secured national funding to expand the scheme, increasing both the number of patients supported and the range of health conditions it can address.
We would like to congratulate Louise Stockdale, Head of Transformation and Sustainability at UHNM, who led the project as part of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent High Potential Scheme during her placement with the Transformation Management Office at Combined Healthcare.
