Name: Chris Moran

Job Title: Estates Technician

Division: Estates Facilities and PFI

Directorate: RSUH Estates

Length of service: 29 years

In the thirty years of working in Estates I've worked alongside all types of personalities but the one common trait they have had is the care and compassion they have for the people they serve, the patients and relatives of those patients. The things we do may not be high profile or for the most part even noticed but, without this work being done the hospital could not function or be safe. Everyday throws up a new challenge, of greater or lesser complexity which need to be met by different skill mixes , some old school and some high tech but they have to be overcome. Hopefully few people from outside of Estates notice the significant work that we do because that means there has been little or no disruption to services and everyone has been kept safe from things you do not want to see in the news. Estates are a relatively small work force which play such an important role and I'm proud to say that I'm part of that because of the people I work alongside.
