Surgical Special Care Unit

Surgical Special Care Unit are currently hiring Band 5 registered nurses.

Full time posts are available (these are rotational, meaning both day and night) 

The surgical special care unit (SSCU) Is a 14 bedded level two high dependency unit and we care for a variety of patients. These include those on cancer pathways, vascular patients, complex head and next surgery, upper and lower GI. Some of our patients may need respiratory and vascular support due to the nature of their surgery. 

There is an initial period of 8 weeks supernumerary offered with the support of two mentors. There is in house training opportunities available within the department and it is definitely an area that will provide growth and knowledge for a Registered nurse.

Senior Sister Sarah Doherty is happy to speak to anyone interested in the posts available and can offer informal visits.
