UHNM staff come together at County Hospital for ‘Promoting Excellence’ symposium

Staff from across UHNM came together at County Hospital to celebrate all things research and innovation at the second annual ‘Promoting Excellence’ symposium.

Held at County’s Postgraduate Medical Centre, the event was organised by UHNM’s Centre for NMAH Research and Education Excellence (CeNREE), and Improving Together and Research and Innovation teams.

The achievements and successes of wards and departments from across UHNM were showcased through a display of posters and series of presentations, with attendees able to vote for their favourite in five work stream categories (research, education, Improving Together, risk and patient safety and quality).

Prizes were given out by Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive and Ann-Marie Riley, Chief Nurse.

There was also a keynote speech from Tommy Whitelaw, whose mother Joan died of vascular dementia, and is campaigning for better person-centred practices in health and social care.
