Sixth Platinum Award for County Bariatric Surgery Ward

Ward Manager Julie Williams said: “The Bariatric Unit was set up in 2016, has gone from strength to strength. We moved to Ward 8 in 2017, and in 2019 merged with the Day Ward upstairs. Covid was tough stopping all elective surgery, but after covid the numbers are fantastic. We’re now trying to get the waiting list down seeing more than 400 patients a month.”

“Staff are absolutely fanatic, the best team I’ve worked with. There’s nothing they wouldn’t do, and they go the extra mile, If you are short on shift they would offer and come in, they’re delightful to have and I’m so proud of them.”
