UHNM’s Procurement team has national award in the bag

UHNM’s Procurement team have beaten 17 other shortlisted organisations to scoop a prestigious national award.

The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC), of which UHNM is host Trust, has won the ‘Cross Functional Collaboration Award’ at the NHS Healthcare Supplies Association (HCSA) awards.

The award was in recognition of the development of innovative Pan ICS Group Procurement Organisation shared service model.

The model, which encompasses six organisations is the biggest group procurement organisation in the NHS with around 200 staff.

Nathan Joy-Johnson, Group Director of Procurement at the NMBC said: “This award is off the back of 15 years of hard work, and I would like to thank everybody in the team for their continued efforts and commitment that enables the NMBC’s continued success. I would also like to extend my gratitude to members of the Procurement Board and all the executives and non-executives at each of the six NHS Trusts for their continued support which is also vital to our success.

“To win this national award is award is phenomenal, particularly given the calibre of NHS procurement professionals out there now and the challenging times that we all find ourselves in now. We are all very proud of what we do.”
