Maternity and Neonatal recruitment open day success

Almost 200 people have attended a recruitment event showcasing maternity and neonatal career opportunities at University Hospitals North Midlands (UHNM).

More than 30 people were recruited into roles in specialties in both maternity and neonatal services at the all day event on Wednesday 22 March.

UHNM is currently recruiting for vacancies for both registered and newly qualified midwifes and the event at Double Tree Hilton offered insights into all the roles available.

On the day staff from both departments were on hand to discuss the roles available, while some attendees had the opportunity of a formal interview.

The open day attracted people from as far away as Kent and Wales and many of the people who attended were qualified midwives, neonatal nurses or people looking to change careers and work in the NHS.

Rachael Topping, Specialist Midwife for Retention at UHNM, said: “The response to the maternity and neonatal recruitment event was overwhelming. It was amazing to meet so many people who have a passion to come and work with our team at UHNM.

“We have been able to expand our maternity workforce which we are sure will grow and develop with us.”

Ann-Marie Riley, Chief Nurse for University Hospitals of North Midlands, added: “I’m so thrilled to see so many people interested in a career in the NHS.

It’s great to see that this recruitment day was so successful, attracting a large number of great candidates who will help us provide the very best care to our patients.”
