UHNM selected as pilot site for NHS Digital Weight Management Programme

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent people can now access support to manage their weight through a new online programme.

UHNM has been selected as a pilot site for the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme which is designed to help people make healthier eating choices, be more active and lose weight. Anyone aged 18 and over, living in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, with a BMI indicating they are obese, can refer themselves to the programme.

The NHS Digital Weight Management Programme provides free, online access to a range of 12-week weight management plans to choose from. Each plan offers tailored advice and support to encourage healthy habits, along with recipes and nutrition advice, wellbeing support and tips to boost activity levels. The programme is working closely with several weight-management organisations to deliver expert advice and knowledge.

To enrol for this programme, patients need to register for Patients Know Best (PKB) where they will be sent a simple questionnaire to complete. To register for PKB please visit - https://www.uhnm.nhs.uk/pkb. Patients will only receive this questionnaire if they are on a particular surgical waiting list.

Please note, patients can only access this programme with a smartphone or computer with internet access. Non-digital weight management services are available in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, click here.
