UHNM Consultant Orthodontist awarded highly commended at the Your Heroes Awards 2022

Congratulations to Dr Karen Juggins, UHNM Consultant Orthodontist, for being awarded highly commended for the NHS Hero Award at the Your Heroes Awards 2022, for her campaign, Keep Stoke Smiling.

Dr Juggins said: “It was a great honour to be nominated for a Your NHS Hero Award, and I was delighted to be awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at last night’s awards ceremony.  However, this really is a team, and not an individual award. The campaign has been so successful because of the Keep Stoke Smiling team and the great work that is done, often behind the scenes, by these truly inspirational, dedicated people.

“To be part of that and to have the campaign recognised in this way was just wonderful.”

Keep Stoke Smiling is a social media and community-driven campaign targeting teenagers and young adults to encourage and promote the benefits of looking after their teeth and was launched by Dr Juggins in 2018 after seeing the devastating effects of sugary drinks on her young patients.
