UHNM Consultant helps improve equestrian safety through social media.

Dr Adamson, Emergency Medicine Consultant and UHNM Clinical Lead for Emergency Medicine is also a talented horsewoman. Outside of work she is kept busy as Chief Medical Officer for the British Equestrian Trade Association; training for the Paris 2023 Para Olympics and runs All the King’s Horses accounts on Instagram and Facebook pages to help educate riders about how they should respond following an equestrian incident.

Diane who will compete in dressage at the Para Olympics, said: “I am passionate about trauma and horses and it is a privilege to be able to combine the two to help make my sport safer.

“Medics understand the potential for injury in a motor accident, but they don’t always when it comes to equestrian incidents and this is something I also hope to change.”

Diane, who set up her social media pages during the pandemic, has now been shortlisted as Social Influencer of the Year in the 2022 Equestrian Business Awards, with the winner to be announced in October.

“I love sharing my work and my horses on social media and it is a huge honour to have even been nominated. I know I am making a difference and the pages have saved lives so if it means people are getting the care they need when they need it most, I am happy,” she added.
