Heart failure patients to benefit from ‘one-stop’ clinic

People referred to UHNM for suspected heart failure will now receive care in a ‘one-stop’ multidisciplinary clinic. Patients will receive an echocardiogram, ECG, diagnosis and treatment management plan all in one place, saving valuable time and leading to quicker and more effective care.

A highly skilled team will come together to deliver the innovative and potentially life-saving service.

Lesley Sprason, lead heart failure clinical nurse specialist, said: “This is a positive step forward for our patients and we are looking forward to all working together in this way.

“The one-stop clinic not only puts patients at the centre of our service, it also provides our highly skilled healthcare scientists in cardiology with a great opportunity to integrate with and learn from the multidisciplinary heart failure team at UHNM.
