Nurses at UHNM are set to benefit from the support of a new role.

Karen Griffiths, a nurse of more than 28 years, undertook further training to enable her to provide the correct guidance and support to staff and has now taken up the new position of Professional Nurse Advocate within the Specialised Division.
Karen said: “Our staff are our greatest asset and we want to enable the nursing workforce to develop skills to gain resilience and reduce stress and anxiety at work, which will ultimately make a difference to them in their everyday working lives to so they can continue to deliver exceptional care to their patients and grow in their professional development too."
 
"Our Midwifery colleagues already have this this role and it is working very well. I’m looking forward to meeting new staff and helping them to gain enjoyment and satisfaction from their work , so they can carry on, both now and into the future.”
Alan Bethell, Deputy Associate Chief Nurse Specialised Division & Chief Nursing Information Officer, said: “We want to do as much as we can to help staff feel well and supported when they are at work. I strongly believe that Karen will be able to use this new role to help improve staff morale and determination to continue within the nursing profession.”
