Young patient completes orthodontic treatment thanks to caring consultant

A young patient has been able to finish her orthodontic treatment, thanks to the perseverance of Mr Rehan Ullah. Olivia Herman (pictured below with mum Sue) has Dyspraxia, which can make it challenging to have and look after braces. Olivia and Sue have thanked Mr Ullah for his expertise and encouragement by giving him a UHNM Hero award.
Ms Herman said: “It has been a real challenge, but Mr Ullah looked after us really well and we’re very grateful for his patience. Without Mr Ullah, I don't think we would have got there.”

UHNM Hero awards are given to members of staff by patients and their families as a special way of saying ‘Thank you’.
Mr Ullah, consultant orthodontist, said: “It’s a real honour to be nominated. We always try our best for patients, and this doesn’t mean giving up if it’s a bit more of a challenge. I’m really pleased that we were able to help Olivia.”
