Chief Nurse congratulates students on A-level results day

#Michelle Rhodes, Chief Nurse for University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, has congratulated those receiving their A-Level results and urged them to consider a career in nursing at UHNM.

UHNM offers a number of nursing roles and has relationships with Keele University and Staffordshire University where students will have placements either at Royal Stoke or County Hospital, Stafford.

Student nurses have pulled out all the stops to treat COVID-19 patients at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital as well as everyone else who needed care during the peak of the pandemic.

Michelle Rhodes, Chief Nurse for UHNM said: “Today is an exciting day for those who have received their A-Level results and are now considering a career in healthcare. Nursing is a challenging but hugely rewarding career and I would encourage anyone who can care, be empathetic and compassionate to consider a future in nursing.

“Here at UHNM we work closely with our local higher education establishments and offer placements for nursing and midwifery and many students then choose to stay with us. During the pandemic many student nurses have helped us out and have been invaluable to our nursing teams across our hospitals. This experience will help them in their career whether that is with us or elsewhere.”

UHNM has a wide variety of roles including emergency medicine, older adults, gastroenterology and more with flexible working and wellbeing support aimed at supporting staff and making UHNM the best place to work.

Vacancies are currently available for newly qualified and existing nurses to apply, if you are interested in nursing at one of the largest specialist hospitals in the country, visit www.uhnm.nhs.uk/uhnmfamily
