International nurses reunite for 20-year celebration event

UHNM’s first cohort of Philippine nurses have reunited for a special event to mark 20 years of service.

The 2004 cohort were joined by members of UHNM’s senior nursing team for an evening of celebration at the Double Tree by Hilton on Festival Park.

Stella Underwood, International Nurse Lead, said: “Everyone had a wonderful evening reuniting once again after so long, and celebrating and reminiscing on their achievements. The nurses did a fabulous job arranging the event, and I’m sure there’ll be opportunities to celebrate with other cohorts in the future.

“I’m delighted to say that most of the nurses have stayed at UHNM and are working in departments across the Trust, with some progressing to senior roles including heads of nursing and clinical nurse specialists.

“I’d like to say thank you to each and every one of them for all their hard work over the past 20 years, UHNM wouldn’t be where it is now without them. They’ve brought so much experience, commitment, and diversity to the Trust, and we’re very much a better place for having them.”
