Haris, Mohammed

Dr Haris is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM); specialist interest includes advanced bronchoscopy, pleural diseases, lung cancer and severe emphysema. He is the lead for pleural diseases and interventional pulmonology. He set up several services at the UHNM including the award-winning endobronchial ultrasound (Clinical Innovation 2013) and one-stop 5- day pleural service (Clinical Excellence 2013 and Improving Patient Care through Innovation 2016) including ambulatory pathways, along with thoracoscopy under local anaesthesia, physician-led rigid bronchoscopy, central airway management and hyperinflation services. He is member of the British Thoracic Society (BTS) Pleural Specialist Advisory Group; lead for Quality and Safety, Medicine Division; Honorary Clinical Lecturer, Keele University; Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Tutor; Clinical Advisor, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK; Clinical Advisor, Pleural Diseases - West Midlands Health Innovation; Faculty member, Keele Clinical Leadership and Management Course 2016-23. He is a chief investigator for joint UHNM and Keele studies; principal investigator for several national portfolio.
