Rachel Houghton, CeNREE Programme Lead

Rachel is the CeNREE Programme Lead, focusing on staff development through junior and senior fellowships such as Chief Nurse Fellows, Director of Midwifery Fellows and Legacy Mentors. As a registered adult nurse qualifying in 2013 her clinical experience is within acute medicine and critical care. Previously working in Nottingham as the Lead for quality and professional regulation and within the Shared Governance team providing structural autonomy.

Rachel is currently completing a Masters in Research Methods (MARM) at the University of Nottingham and has previously been a clinical research matron at UHNM. With the experience of working in two of the largest teaching hospitals outside of London she enjoys finding innovative ways of developing and supporting staff career development. Encouraging evidence based practice and supporting the enquiring minds of staff, Rachels focus is on high quality patient care through the engagement and professional autonomy of patient facing staff.

As an experienced mentor and coach Rachel is well placed to support any career conversations or specific questions about personal development and internal opportunities within UHNM.
