Main road closure: Royal Stoke site 17-20 March

Essential road repairs are due to be carried out at Royal Stoke University Hospital between 6pm Friday 17 March and 5am Monday 20 March.

The main road between B Block and C Block will be closed and a temporary road diversion will be in place.

The works are anticipated to take approx. 3 days and will commence on a Friday evening at 6pm and will run through to 5am Monday morning. If unforeseen causes mean the works are not completed in time, the road will be re-opened with a temporary surface or road plate ready for Monday morning and any final surfacing works will be completed the following weekend.

Road Diversions

There will be a temporary road diversion in place to assist with enabling traffic to enter the Royal Stoke site from the A34 and the Hilton Road entrance. The diversion will be via The Avenue and all vehicles must use this route to access either entry point to the Royal Stoke site.

Bus Services

Public buses will be re-routed and bus stops will be temporarily deployed on the “Blue Light Road” during the weekend of the works and has been agreed with the local councils transport department. The four current bus stops will be suspended and taken out of service during the works.

The below notices have been displayed in the bus stops.

Parking Arrangements

There will be no parking on the “Blue Light Road” from Thursday 16th March until early Monday morning. APCOA will be coning the parking spaces off to create two lanes for the temporary bus routes.

The Trust apologises for the inconvenience this may cause but it is vital that these essential works are completed.
