UHNM's diversity celebrated with new banner

The diversity of UHNM’s workforce is being celebrated at County Hospital with the installation of a new inclusion banner.

The banner located in the hospital’s ground floor shows the 108 flags each representing the different nationalities of staff that work at UHNM.

It was unveiled last week by Tracy Bullock, UHNM Chief Executive, Joe Orosun, Organisational Development Consultant and Chairman of the Equality and Inclusion Staff Network, along with Phil Marfell, Engineering Team Leader for County Hospital’s Estates Team.

Tracy said: “It’s really important that we recognise and celebrate the diversity of our staff here at UHNM. We have colleagues from many different countries and nationalities who are all part of the UHNM family, and I think it’s great that we acknowledge and celebrate that.”

The banner follows the unveiling of a similar inclusion banner in the main atrium of the Royal Stoke last October to mark Black History Month.

Joe added: “This banner represents the diversity of the workforce at UHNM who deliver outstanding care for our patients every day. It reminds us to respect and appreciate each other and our differences, and is about trying to ensure that we work in a pleasant environment. I’d like to say thank you to Phil and our Estates team here at County for their help in installing the banner for all to see.”
