VCOD team thanked for support

UHNM’s VCOD (vaccination as a condition of deployment) team have been thanked for their role in implementation of the mandatory Covid-19 vaccination scheme. The national directive for all employees to receive the vaccine came just prior to Christmas 2021 with a deadline of April 2022. The amount of work required was extensive and involved tight timescales. Although plans were later changed, members of the operational teams worked tirelessly to make preparations, with many aspects of daily activity put on hold.

Staff have been given the Chief Executive's award in recognition of their efforts.

Ro Vaughan, chief people officer, said: “The call for assistance was ably met by colleagues from the PMO who provided great support helping to validate information, update systems and follow up on queries. Members of the communications team were equally fantastic in helping to promote the messages, organise briefings and maintain the momentum for regularly updating staff members. This has been a particularly challenging programme of work and teams worked collectively, showed great team spirit and professionalism and delivered to timescale.

“For me this project showed team working at its best, great leadership on the part of senior members of both teams and demonstrates the true commitment of members of UHNM. An example in team working.”

Helen Ashley, deputy chief executive officer, said: “This was a real team effort, a really challenging piece of work in challenging times. Thank you to everyone for all of your efforts.”
