Neurology team thanked for resilience

Staff on ward 120 were presented with their Team of the Month award by Dr John Oxtoby, Executive Medical Director

UHNM’s neurology team have been thanked for their resilience and dedication. During the pandemic staff on ward 120 were split in two, changing from neurology to medicine. Five different specialties were accommodated on to the ward and some staff were moved to help support the fight against Covid-19.

Even during this challenging time the team still managed to achieve ‘gold’ for their Care Excellence Framework (CEF), a locally developed tool which provides an internal accreditation system.

Staff have been given the Team of the Month award in recognition of their contribution.

Rachael Swift, senior sister for ward 120, said: “Not being together was extremely hard, but we supported the specialised division daily not only with staffing, but with bed capacity.

“Achieving gold in our CEF is a huge achievement and I couldn't be prouder of this team. It’s great to be able to celebrate how fantastic they all are, I have never met such a happy, hard-working, resilient team. It’s a pleasure to be their ward sister.”
