Deputy COO thanked for staff support

UHNM’s deputy chief operating officer has been thanked for supporting staff during the pandemic. Beryl Woodall works with colleagues across the trust to ensure things run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

Julie Cumberlidge, deputy associate chief nurse, said: “Even when Beryl is not on duty, she is on duty. Near on every weekend she joins corporate calls to ensure that we are properly staffed and patient risk is mitigated. Ensuring patient safety and experience is paramount and Beryl works hard in the background to support teams with this.

“Staff wellbeing is also a big part of the trust’s values and Beryl always makes the team feel supported and listened to. We want her to know she is very much appreciated.”

Beryl has been given the Employee of the Month award in recognition of her dedication.

Beryl said: “It’s so lovely to be recognised, but I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have without the help of other team members who have really stood up and helped to keep the trust safe.

“The awards process is of great value to the trust, as it means we can highlight the great work teams are doing here at UHNM.”

Paul Bytheway, chief operating officer, said: “This award is testament to all of Beryl’s hard work during the past six months through a very difficult and challenging time.”
