Twins receive long service award

It’s been a double celebration at UHNM recently, as twins Andrew (Left) and Adam Leese (Right) from Sneyd Green celebrated receiving their long services awards.

Both started working in Sterile Services at Royal Stoke 20 years ago when they turned 16 and have continued their journey at the hospital ever since.

Now aged 37, the brothers have reflected on their time at UHNM.

Andrew, now Lead Coder at Royal Stoke University Hospital, said: “It’s great to be recognised with this long service award. I first started my career in Sterile Services and during my time here I have been able to progress in Clinical and am now a Lead Coder where I am surrounded by friendly and approachable staff. I have felt very looked after by my colleagues during my 20 years here.”

Adam, who still works in Sterile Services, added: “When I started 20 years ago I was very shy, however after building great relationships with other staff members in the team, I have gained so much more confidence. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Both Andrew and Adam were presented with a long service certificate by Helen Ashley, Director of Strategy and Performance. She said: “Congratulations to Adam and Andrew who have achieved such amazing long service milestones.

You are the brilliant people who keep the NHS going day after day. Take pride in your accomplishment and commitment to excellence; we’re proud to have you as part of the UHNM family.”
