Human resources team thanked for leading Covid staff testing pathway

University Hospital’s human resources team have been thanked for leading the trust’s Covid-19 staff testing pathway. Over the course of the last 12 months, the team set up the pathway with two drive-in centres and worked with IM&T developers on a new system for booking tests and reporting results. The team provided a staff testing service 12-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and more than 9000 people were helped to obtain a test.

Staff have been given the Team of the Month award in recognition of their achievements.

Ro Vaughan, Director of Human Resources, said: “Staff were able to book a test 24/7, attend within a few hours and receive results the same day. This was a critical turning point and made a significant difference to the way the pandemic was managed here at UHNM.

“We must never underestimate the impact that a reassuring voice at the end of the phone can have and I am very proud that my team were able to play a huge part in helping staff and their families at this challenging time.”
