From Sunday 26 December visiting will be temporarily suspended

Due to increasing transmission rates of Covid-19, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend visiting and we are asking the public to consider other ways of keeping in touch, such as phone calls or video calls. Free WiFi is available across the Trust should it be needed.
We have made the following exceptional circumstances where one visitor (a family member or friend) will be permitted to visit. These will be made at the discretion of the ward manager or clinical team.
Exceptional circumstances for inpatient visiting are:
  • patient receiving end-of-life care
  • only one birth partner can be present for established labour and birth, If you are being induced, our team will call the birth partner when you are in established labour.
  • a familiar carer/parent or guardian/supporter/personal assistant
  • both parents/guardians where the family bubble can be maintained
  • patients may be accompanied where appropriate and necessary to assist their communication and/or to meet their health, emotional, religious or spiritual care needs.
Anyone attending an appointment, A&E, or an antenatal scan, should attend alone where possible or be accompanied by just one family member or carer if absolutely necessary.
