Aimee Carter Junior Operational Support Manager, Breast Imaging Veteran and Military spouse
Amiee joined the Army in January 2001 at the age of 16, and due to her age Amiee attended basic training at the Army Technical Foundation College, Arborfield. After training she then went on to do her trade training as a Radio Operator in Blandford.
"My first posting was to Hohne in Germany and I was deployed on Op Telic 1 in Iraq. After this time I left the Army to start a family. My daughter was 10 days old when we moved from Germany to Haverfordwest. After my maternity leave finished I started a job at Withybush Hospital. We then moved to Wimborne, Dorset and I worked at Poole Hospital in Medical Records. In May 2010 we moved to Stafford where we decided to settle and brought our first family home. I then applied and was successful to get a job in Medical Records Stafford Hospital. In April 2012 I moved to the Breast Imaging Department and have stayed ever since.
Having moved around I am use to change and adapting to different environments, which has been of a great use when working in the NHS. Working at different NHS trust also brings the benefit of seeing how other trust’s work and what I can bring to UHNM. I can work under pressure and thrive on working in a busy department. I currently play an active role in supporting UHNM Armed Forces work and was part of the team to achieve gold status for Employee Recognition Scheme. I run the Armed Forces Community Club along with other Veterans. This club is open to anyone working at UHNM who is either, Serving, Reservist, Veteran, Military spouses and family. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch.
