Royal Stoke University Hospital 

Royal Stoke University Hospital's new facilities have plenty to offer our patients and visitors. Here you will find lots of useful information about what is available once inside the hospital.

 

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available from the entrances of our buildings. If you have a problem locating a wheelchair, please ask a member of staff (please note, some of our wheelchairs are coin operated).

Moment To ... Restaurant

 

The 'Moment to . . .' Restaurant is located on Floor 1 overlooking the Main Entrance atrium. The spacious restaurant serves a variety of hot meals and sandwiches throughout the day. The restaurant is for use by staff, patients and visitors.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday 9am-9.30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am - 3pm and 5pm - 9.30pm

Costa Coffee

 

The Costa Coffee outlet is located in the Atrium off the Main Entrance of the Main Building. The shop serves a variety of hot drinks, sandwiches and a range of cakes.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am - 5pm

RVS

RVS is located at the entrance of the Maternity Building. WRVS supply hot and cold beverages and hot food, such as toasties and Panini's. There are also a range of gifts available, especially for the new babies arriving at the Maternity Centre. The Trust very much welcomes the support of the volunteers of WVRS.

Opening times: Monday - Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm

WHSmith

 

WHSmith is located in in the atrium off the Main Entrance. The outlet offers a wide range of newspapers, magazines, confectionary and much more.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 8pm, Saturday 8.30am - 7.30pm, Sunday 9.30am - 6pm

Telephone Information Points and taxi numbers

Free telephone points are available for the use of patients and visitors throughout the Hospital. These are provided by Info-point, and can be found in entrance locations. All the machines have a taxi contact on them which you can also use free of charge. 

 

County Hospital 

County Hospital has a wide range of services and facilities for families and visitors. These include shops and a restaurant.

Retail outlets

Nightingales Restaurant

Pay a visit to Nightingales restaurant where you will be assured a warm welcome from our friendly catering team. The 200-seater restaurant is located on the first floor of County Hospital, opposite Ward 8.


Opening times are: 8:30am until 7:00pm Monday to Friday, Breakfast 8:30am - 11:15am, Lunch 12 noon - 2:15pm and Supper 5:00pm - 7:00pm


Come and enjoy a full English breakfast or if you prefer something lighter, then choose from our range of breakfast snacks including delicious bacon or sausage baps, cheese on toast as well as the regular breakfast service items.

For lunch you can choose from our selection of homemade hot menu items, in addition, we operate a full call order service which includes filled jacket potatoes, panini’s, toasted sandwiches or an omelette of your choice. We also offer a range of freshly produced sandwiches, filled rolls, salads and salad bowls which are all prepared on the premises by our catering team. You may also be tempted to treat yourself to one of our delicious hot or cold desserts to complete your meal.

Afternoon Tea is on offer Monday to Friday between 2.15pm and 5.00pm when you can join us for a cup of tea or coffee in addition to cold beverages, homemade cakes, sandwiches and hot/cold snacks which include hot sausage rolls, pasties and pizzas.

For evening meals you can choose from main course menu items from our hot counter or a filled Panini, jacket potato, omelette or toasted sandwich from our call order menu, or you may prefer to opt for one of our fresh salads, sandwiches or filled rolls.

Special diets are also catered for, subject to availability.

Between restaurant opening times and at the weekend we have a range of catering on offer from our vending service in ‘Nightingales Retreat’ which is situated in Nightingales restaurant corridor. Here you can purchase a range of hot & cold menu items in addition to drinks, crisps and confectionary products. There is also a range of hot or cold beverage machines located in other areas across the hospital. There is also a snack vending machine located in the waiting area in the A&E Department.

WHSmith

Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm; Saturday and Sunday – 9am to 7pm. WHSmith stocks a wide range of drinks, sweets, snacks, newspapers, magazines and toiletries such as toothbrushes, tissues and shampoo.

La Patisserie

Monday to Friday – 8am to 6:30pm; Saturday – 10am to 6pm.

La Patisserie offers an extensive selection of readymade and made to order sandwiches and baked goods such as pasties and pies, cakes and pastries.

The Stafford and Cannock Hospitals League of Friends has a coffee shop located in the Outpatients Department, on the ground floor.
