ARTU

ARTU is for patients who require acute care following stabilisation from intensive care, theatres or the emergency department.

The 26-bed ARTU (Acute Rehabilitation Trauma Unit) is situated at Royal Stoke University Hospital and helps patients achieve their maximum potential for physical, cognitive, social and psychological function. It is one of the first hyper-acute specialised rehabilitation units to be developed within a Major Trauma Centre.

UHNM is one of the top performing major trauma centres and has close links to other rehabilitation centres and the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries.
