University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust has been honoured as a winner entry in the UK National Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2019/20, held at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham, on Tuesday 30 April 2019.
Hosted by BiP Solutions Ltd, the GO Awards are the UK's premier procurement awards, recognising outstanding achievement in procurement across the public, private and third sectors. The GO Awards are recognised as the benchmark by which procurement excellence and progress in public sector commissioning is measured.
The UK National GO Awards bring together winners from the GO Awards Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with new entries, ensuring that the winners of a UK National GO Award truly represent the highest levels of success in public procurement.
Across the 17 awards presented on the evening, winners were celebrated in categories such as leadership, teamwork, social value and innovation.
Nathan Joy-Johnson, Associate Director - Procurement and Commercial Services said: "We're delighted to have received this prestigious national award. The Supplies and Procurement team has a long history of success at these award ceremonies and it's no coincidence that the continued hard-work of the team has again been recognised. I would like to thank the whole team for their dedication and professionalism."
The judging panel, made up of eleven of the country's leading procurement experts, were pleased to recognise the team's achievement alongside fellow winners and highly commended entries.
David Smith, Chair of the judging panel, said: "I believe the standard of the Awards has improved greatly over the years. The winners in the categories this year are as good if not better than any other year."
