Inside the hospital

 

​​​​​​​Royal Stoke University Hospital

There are six clinical buildings, Main Building, Trent Building, Lyme Building, Cancer Centre, Maternity Centre and West Building. Cancer Centre and Maternity Centre are one building but have separate entrances, the West Building, which has wards for elderly patients, is opposite.

All patients and visitors attending Main Building and the adjacent Trent and Lyme buildings are asked to use the Main Entrance on Ground Floor. As the Royal Stoke University Hospital is built upon a slight incline, not every floor of the hospital are present on the seven storey's. The following floor maps show where individual wards and departments are located in Main Building, Trent Building and Lyme Building.

Atrium (Main Entrance)

If you are accessing some of the outpatient clinics or the restaurant, please use the atrium stairs or the lifts behind the reception desk. For the wards located on Floor 1, walk past the green reception desk on your left and follow the corridor to the left. At the bottom of the corridor use the stairs facing you or the lifts to the left.

Lower Ground Floor 1 (LG1) & Trent Building Upper Floor

For LG1 use either the lifts behind the reception desk, or the corridor at the far right of the atrium (by the glass wall) and down the stairs on your left. To access the Trent Building, once on LG1 follow the corridor and turn right into the Trent Building using the link doors.

Lower Ground Floor 2 (LG2), Trent Building Lower Floor and Lyme Building Upper Floor

Lower Ground 2 and Lyme Building: From Main Entrance, walk past the green reception desk on your left and follow the corridor to the left. At the bottom of the corridor turn right along another corridor and again to the bottom. Here you will find lifts and stairs to LG2. For the Lyme Building, exit the lifts or stairs and turn left into the link corridor.

Trent Building Lower Floor: Due to the distances involved, it is recommended that patients and visitors make their way to the Trent Building Upper Floor and use the internal staircase.

Lyme Building Lower Floor

RoyalStoke Lowerlyme.jpgLyme Building Lower Floor: From Main Entrance, walk past the green reception desk on your left and follow the corridor to the left. At the bottom of the corridor turn right along another corridor and again to the bottom. Here you will find lifts and stairs to LG2. Exit the lifts or stairs and turn left into the link corridor. Follow the corridor, there are lifts half way down the corridor on your right, and stairs a little further onwards.

Mater​nity and C​ancer Centre

(Please note that there is no access between Maternity and Cancer services)​​

Ground Floor Can​​cer Centre​

Ground Floor Cancer Centre, from the main entrance to the Cancer Centre there is a reception desk on your right, The Radiotherapy department takes up the majority of the ground floor and Brachytherapy is located down a corridor opposite the reception desk.

Ground Floor Maternity and First Floor Cancer Centre

First Floor Cancer, from the lifts and stairwell there is a reception area for Wards 201 and 202, also the Fresh Hair Wigs and Beauty Salon is located here.  

Ground Floor Maternity, from the main entrance the Ante-Natal Clinic and Ultrasound are immediately to your right. The stairwell and lifts are halfway down the corridor on your left and the Early Pregnancy department is at the end on your right.

First Floor Maternity Centre

First Floor Maternity. from the lifts and stairwell, turn left​ for the Midwife Birth Centre and Radiotherapy, turn right for Wards 205 and 206. There are toilets and seats located in the main corridor.

Second Fl​oor Maternity Centre

​​​Second Floor Maternity, from the lifts and stairwell, turn left for the Midwife Assessment Unit and the Neo-Natal department or turn right for the Delivery Suite and Theatres. There are toilets and seats located in the main corridor.
