​I am a full time spinal surgeon specialising in all aspects of spinal surgery apart from children's deformity surgery. After training in general Orthopaedic surgery, I underwent a dual Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spine Fellowship before taking up my consultant post.​

My main area of practice is in treatment of low back pain and degenerative conditions of the entire spine. Where surgery is needed, I use minimally invasive / key hole techniques to decrease post-operative pain and speed up recovery following surgery. I have a special interest in complex cervical spine surgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery.

I am actively involved in clinical and basic science research in association with Keele University. My research interests lie in bone regeneration using stem cells and back pain in patients suffering with multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the blood cells).​
