The UHNM Major Trauma Centre is one of 22 adult centres in England. Built on a long history of trauma care at the hospital, we have one of the best survival figures in the country and treat patients with life altering injuries on a daily basis.
Our team support patients and their next of kin from admission through A&E to discharge home or to on-going care. We work closely at every stage to ensure the best possible outcome and to promote rehabilitation as early as possible. We also place some of our specialist consultants with pre-hospital providers, including the air ambulance. This helps to provide continuity of care from the roadside to rehabilitation.
UHNM sees over 1000 patients who have suffered a significant injury every year. We provide care to a population of approximately 2.25 million, covering the North West Midlands and North Wales. We work in close partnership with both local hospitals in the area and local ambulance providers, as well as specialist facilities that may be required for long term care.
