Interpreter Service

 

If you have an appointment at the hospital and English is not your first language, or if you have a hearing impairment, you will need an interpreter. You must telephone the Royal Stoke University Hospital interpreter booking office on 01782 676676 to make the arrangements, or alternatively you can email the booking office at interpreter@uhns.nhs.uk.  Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.


If you are a patient in our hospital and you require the services of an interpreter this can be arranged for you by the ward staff. An interpreter can be pre-booked if you hav​e a planned date of admission. If your admission to hospital is an emergency an interpreter will be made available as soon as possible following your admission. Visual aids will be used by the ward staff to assist with communication until the interpreter is available.​​
